Sunset Beach at the west end of Gulf Road is a favorite with locals for picnics, swimming, and boat launching. It has barbeque grills, sheltered picnic tables, bicycle stands and public restrooms. Hours are from sunrise until 10:00 p.m. (942-5610)

Fred Howard Park, west of Florida Avenue, is a 150 - acre county park with a mile-long causeway connecting the offshore swimming area and the mainland. This beautiful park is open from 7 a.m. until sunset and offers barbeque grills, sheltered pavilions, children's playgrounds, fishing, windsurfing, public restrooms, and beach showers. (943-4081)

A.L. Anderson Park, a county-owned 128 - acre park on Lake Tarpon, has picnic facilities, barbeque grills, fishing, boat access to the lake and a nature trail. Hours are 7 a.m. to sunset. (943-4085)

Highland Nature Park, owned by the City of Tarpon Springs, is a small park focusing on natural Florida foliage.

There are several playgrounds - Rotary Park, Craig Park, Dorsett Park, Sisler Field, and Riverside Park - with facilities for softball, baseball, volleyball, soccer, basketball, shuffleboard, tennis, and children's play areas. Several golf courses are located in town and in the surrounding areas. The City Recreation Department offers a variety of pastimes.

Winding through the town is the Pinellas Trail which extends from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs. This trail is used by bicyclists, joggers, skaters, and walkers.
